[Gossip] Best Buy Customers Exposed To Porn On Store Televisions
Posted by Joseph Lee on 02.23.2012

Several Best Buy customers got more than they bargained for when pornography was displayed on the store's display televisions in Greenville, South Carolina. Not only did adults see the image, but so did young children.

Customer Gloria Berg said: "It was extremely, extremely pornographic image. I think even the word 'pornographic' doesn't cover it. I have never watched pornography, so I don't know what else you can see there, but to me, I really felt extremely violated."

She was in the store with her son and his children. They were looking at the 55-inch screen smart televisions when the image showed up. She said it was up for several minutes before the manager came over and removed it.

The manager told her that someone used the store's Wi-Fi to upload the image to the TVs. He said it happened the night before and there was nothing they could do. She added: "They, like, brush it off like it's...who cares? Nobody cares. It's pornography. And we are getting adjusted to that kind of mentality. That's why we are losing our morals."

The corporate office for Best Buy released the following statement: "Two individuals accessed our store's wireless signal to broadcast inappropriate content on a smart television display. In both cases, we worked immediately to disable the inappropriate content. We greatly apologize for this unfortunate incident and we are working to ensure that it does not happen again."

The Berg family has filed a complaint with police for dissemination of pornographic material. Best Buy hasn't revealed if it knows who did this and if it will pursue criminal charges. Greenville police say that the case hasn't been assigned to an investigator but it soon will. They add they would need to see the image to figure out if any laws were violated.

A 55-year old southern woman complaining about losing our morals?

It was probably a picture of a man and a woman in the missionary position with genitals showing.

Why is that funny?

Are you one of the simpletons in this world that thinks that police don't need to have evidence to pursue an investigation?

Honestly, the funniest thing about the story isn't the line you quoted, it was the Berg woman claiming she felt 'violated.'

America has turned into a nation of whiny pussies, it really really has.

To the above poster:

He is saying it's funny because the police are wanting to review the tape because its porn. It's just a joke. He is laughing because the cops feel the need to watch it.

"Why is that funny?"

It was funny due to the fact that they said they need to see the image, when the image in question is pornographic. lighten up douche bag.

Moreover, I was picturing a cooler-than-cool, but still kinda nerdy smart-ass detective saying it, almost in a "nudge, nudge, wink, wink" kinda way.
